maybe switch the image around. and the focus becomes your logo.
More than anything, I like the transition from glows, masking, and layer effects (as much as we both like that style). It's a solid design based on the fact that you make the content shine and let the typography do the work. Same route I have to take as I move into Windows 8 Metro applications and my previous WP7 works. It's great when executed correctly and there's a ton of similarities here. Loving the color palette as well.
